Měření hydraulické ztráty chladiče

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the measurement of the hydraulic pressure loss of a radiator for an internal combustion engine and the design of a suitable measurement methodology. The theoretical part describes hydraulic losses occurring during liquid flow, principles of internal combustion engine cooling, properties of automotive radiators and coolants, and the method of flow measurement using orifice flow meters. The practical part focuses on the design and implementation of a test rig for the calibration of an orifice flow meter and the subsequent measurement of the radiator’s hydraulic pressure loss. The thesis also includes a description of the measuring instruments used, the measurement methodology, and the processing of the measured data. Based on the measurements, the pressure characteristic of the radiator, the hydraulic resistance, and the variation of the local loss coefficient as a function of the Reynolds number were determined. The thesis also includes an evaluation of the measurement accuracy and determination of the error of the measurement chain.
