Legal and Economic Aspects of Air Freight Transport

Abstract

Name of student: Tomáš Pražák The diploma thesis focuses on the legal and economic aspects of air freight transport. The aim of the thesis is to determine the economic importance of air freight, to describe the primary sources of international air freight regulations and the regulations of freight transport within Czech law. The primary aim of this thesis is to analyze the liability of the carrier. In the theoretical part, the economic side of the air freight is presented; it involves pricing, cargo aircraft manufactures, storage unit description and the Future of Air Freight. Furthermore, the Contract of carriage is noted with all necessary information, relevant conventions and laws are described regarding the international air freight. In the practical part, the main conventions are analyzed namely the Warsaw Convention and the Montreal Convention for the liability of the carrier and the consignor, also the Czech law regarding this topic is analyzed.
