Legal and Economic Aspects of Air Freight Transport

The diploma thesis focuses on the legal and economic aspects of air freight transport. The aim of the thesis is to determine the economic importance of air freight, to describe the primary sources of international air freight regulations and the regulations of freight transport within Czech law. The primary aim of this thesis is to analyze the liability of the carrier.

In the theoretical part, the economic side of the air freight is presented; it involves pricing, cargo aircraft manufactures, storage unit description and the Future of Air Freight. Furthermore, the Contract of carriage is noted with all necessary information, relevant conventions and laws are described regarding the international air freight.

In the practical part, the main conventions are analyzed namely the Warsaw Convention and the Montreal Convention for the liability of the carrier and the consignor, also the Czech law regarding this topic is analyzed.

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na právní a ekonomické aspekty letecké nákladní dopravy. Cílem práce je zjistit ekonomický význam letecké nákladní dopravy, popsat primární zdroje mezinárodních předpisů o letecké nákladní dopravě a předpisy nákladní dopravy v českém právu. Primárním cílem této práce je analyzovat odpovědnost dopravce.

V teoretické části je představena ekonomická stránka letecké nákladní dopravy; zahrnuje stanovení cen, výroby nákladních letadel, popis skladovacích jednotek a budoucnost letecké nákladní dopravy. Dále je zaznamenána přepravní smlouva se všemi nezbytnými informacemi, jsou popsány příslušné úmluvy a zákony týkající se mezinárodní letecké nákladní dopravy.

V praktické části jsou analyzovány hlavní úmluvy, konkrétně Varšavská úmluva a Montrealská úmluva o odpovědnosti dopravce a odesílatele, analyzováno je také české právo týkající se tohoto tématu.
