Abstract
The thesis deals with corrosion protection of aluminium substrates. The first – theoretical – part of the thesis describes the techniques of cleaning the basis material before the application of the coating. This part focuses on mechanical and chemical methods of surface cleaning, the types of protective coating, the techniques of their application and also on the factors that play a role in protective coating degradation. Furthermore, this part describes the properties of aluminium, including the different types of corrosion. The experimental part is dedicated to examining degradation and adhesion properties of the protective nanocoating NOVAX VD, which was developed primarily for protecting steel materials, but prior testing nevertheless indicated very good protective qualities even with respect to aluminium. The results of destructive and non-destructive testing performed by using a technique of nanocoating application different than the one recommended by the manufacturer demonstrated very good protection of aluminium substrate against corrosive influences with adhesion and visual stability. Based on these observations, the thesis proposes a change in the technique of applying and subsequently drying and hardening of the nanocoating
