Abstract
The thesis deals with the renovation of the piston compressor IKD 11/40, which is used for production of apple cider. The theoretical introduction of the thesis is devoted to a research in the field of reciprocating compressors, in which the main parts and the theoretical basis of energy conversion in an ideal and real reciprocating compressor are described. The practical part consists of a description of the renovation of a compressor unit and the associated measurement of compressor performance by the method of filling an air tank of known volume before and after the machine repair. The measured values are then used to construct energy characteristics in order to evaluate the effect of the renovation. The second measurement deals with the apple pressing process, specifically the effects on the overall economics of the process. The last chapter is devoted to an additional measurement of the pressure in the cylinder working space.
