Abstract

This bachelor thesis is particularly focused on horizontal and vertical steam separators and preheaters used in nuclear power stations of generation III+ of medium and higher power output. First part challenges negative influence of moisture in steam and description of this influence on thermodynamic efficiency of turbine stage, efficiency of steam cycle and on the turbine blade. Furthermore the methods of moisture removal and description of separate types of horizontal and vertical separators and preheaters. Second part consists of thermal calculation of two-stage vertical separator – preheater designed for nuclear power stations of 70 MWe power output. In conclusion I present analysis and review of final values. At last, schematic diagram of device in steam cycle and graphical documentation of preheater cassette is enclosed.
