Abstract

The goal of this thesis was to design a new operational tool for the RFA, which would have better properties than existing surgical tools - reduce operating time, reduce the amount collected from healthy liver tissue and better handling of instruments during surgery, compatible with RF wave generator RITA, which is used for current operating instruments. Bachelor's thesis can be divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains information about the history of liver surgery, surgical technique used in liver surgery, the types of cancers and RFA of this cancers. It also contains a proposal for a new needle placement, and shape of tool. The practical part includes a specification of the mechanical properties of materials, experimental detection of loading forces, chemical analysis of needles material. Strength analysis of the tools and working needles with using finite element method, inspection of tools for buckling in ANSYS.
