Abstract

The thesis deals with the design of a pneumatic briquette press. In the introductory part, a part on the topic of biomass processing, calorific value of different types of fuels and production of briquettes from different materials is prepared. The design of briquette presses is also described. The next part of the paper deals with the design of a suitable pneumatic actuator. Four drive variants are proposed and evaluated according to air consumption and air flow. A design model of a briquette press adapted to the pressing of paper briquettes is developed. Pneumatic schemes are proposed in several variants and their functions are described. The selection of the elements is made for an automatically controlled pneumatic circuit and the cost of the individual elements and the total cost of the circuit assembly is quantified. In the last section, an evaluation of the experimental press that was built to verify the functionality of the circuit is presented. The pressed briquettes are shown in the figures and the annual consumption of briquettes to heat a dwelling is calculated.
