Abstract
This thesis examines the impact of generational differences on employee motivation and work performance in a selected company. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical section. In the theoretical section, based on a literature review, the concept of a generation is defined, the characteristics of individual generations are outlined, the areas of motivation and work performance are defined, and the topic of intergenerational cooperation in the workplace is explored. In the practical section, the characteristics of the selected company XY are first presented, and its system of motivation and work performance evaluation is assessed based on a study of the company’s internal documents. Subsequently, the results of the questionnaire survey and interviews are evaluated, providing a comprehensive view of whether generational differences are evident within the company and how the perceptions of motivation and work performance differ among the various generations of employees. Based on the findings, the final chapter formulates proposals and recommendations, identifying areas for improvement.
