Abstract
The aim of this master thesis was to reduce refurbishment time of the HCC rolling line in company ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the lean management and main tools of the lean manufacturing. The practical part deals with the application of SMED methodology. Initially the analysis has been performed on the current refurbishment programme on lower steel reinforcer TH29, during which all nine rolling mills were replaced. Afterwards the SMED method was theoretically applied and the changes suggested which if applied would have accelerated overall changeover time by 41 %. At the end there are also the economic implication of proposed changes. As a result of the master thesis the manufacturing changeover was accelerated and the time for restarting of production reduced.
