Abstract

The main subject of this work is a survey of the semi-automatic rimfire rifles, which are currently available on the market, including an overview of the most widely used calibres (cartridges). This thesis further presents summary of design features, especially placing of barrel, cartridge chamber closure and locking, automatic function driving systems, feeding, trigger and firing mechanisms. Afterwards I present my views on some of the elements and features used. Then the most suitable conception (design principles) is selected to form conceptual design of the semi-automatic rimfire rifle. At the conclusion there are necessary calculations carried out, at first internal ballistics of values for .22 Long Rifle cal., followed by firearm functions. Mechanisms of conceptual design are also evaluated concerning high accuracy of fire achievements.
