Abstract
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to verify whether the rate of penetration of the penetrating body into the tested material influences the final value of hardness and to what extent, using the same test load. The first theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with a general description of measuring the hardness of materials, history and measurement methods. The second theoretical part deals with a detailed description of the Brinell hardness test. In the experimental part, a method of measuring the piston speed of the penetrating body into the material is proposed, using the Brinell hardness test (HBW) with a 10 mm ball and a test load of 3,000 kg. Values from two certified standards and 316L printed steel, 316L machined and 316L rolled steel are compared. In conclusion, it will then be stated that the speed of the penetrating body does not affect the final value of hardness or has and how significant an effect.
