Abstract

This doctoral dissertation is concerned with the possibility of a change in bearing inner ring technology. In short, technological change is based on machining a raceway with a modern CNC turning machine instead of an outer diameter grinder. The main objective is to demonstrate such a change as reaction to the increased production volume of inner rings. In this paper, we focus on the technical approach towards the technological change along with getting to know current manufacturing conditions. Furthermore, the proposed change is verified by experiment. The main part of dissertation contains a description of each parts of the experiment, cutting parameters, methods and instruments of measuring of parameters. The main part of the experiment - measuring the wear of tools, durability of inserts and roughness were made in the firm Koyo Bearings in Olomouc. The main part of work contains a description of all experiment steps, cutting parameters, methods, and gauges. Experiments — dealing with the wear of tooling, cutting insert durability — were undertaken in the Koyo Bearings Company in Olomouc. Next chaps describes the analysis and evaluation of measured results of the experiment using graphs and tables of measured and calculated values. The final part includes a summary of the results. There are conclusions of science and research and for practice too. This chap also provided recommendation for the further research this issues and propose other experiments and measurements to the better emphasize and confirm the results. Next chapter describes the analysis and evaluation of experiment outcomes by using charts and tables. The final part contains the summary of all results, including scientific conclusions and contributions to the academic and applied research. This chapter also provides recommendations for further research of described problems to further improve gained outcomes.
