Abstract

The aim of my thesis is improving of useful properties of cutting tools through thin films coating prepared by PACVD and PVD in company VÚHŽ, a.s. Dobrá. The first part is devoted to the analysis of the current state of coatings and explanation of coating technology. In the second part of the thesis, is suggested to methodology of experimental work for evaluation of the quality of deposited coatings. Third part included three different coatings carried out tests for verification of the quality of the deposited thin films. The main task of the thesis, based on the evaluation of operating performance and life of the cutting tools, is to determine which coatings will be most suitable for application for industrial use.
