Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with research of current surface treatment applied on machining tools used by company Roltechnik Ltd. located in Červená Voda city. Introduction part includes history and current situation in this company. Following part of thesis is mentioning technology of surface treatment, cutting tools coating, theirs division and properties. Experimental part of bachelor thesis includes properties of cutting tips, on which coating of AlTiN and TiN was done by PVD method. Several different tests were conducted on those cutting tips: roughness measurement, tests of phase interface, chemical analysis of cutting tips coatings, cutting tips surface structure and corrosive robustness test. Evaluation of entire thesis was done in conclusion.
