Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the methodology of computer simulation of combustion engines. In the introduction, there is a comparison of the available and most frequently used software. The Fabia 1.2 HTP engine is described in the following chapter, including an analysis of individual production variants. The most common problems of each version are listed as well. The next chapter deals with the engine simulation itself, specifically the CGPA version, in the Lotus Engineering software. After the simulation is assessed, a modification to the exhaust system made to eliminate the engine's negative characteristics and increase its performance is presented. Finally, the thesis concludes by comparing the initial model and the model with the changes made.
