Abstract
The economic recession has influenced most of the European countries but hasn´t striken only total produkt of these economies but also their labour market. Aggravation of the situation gave rise to the increased requirements in terms of the performed labour policy and as for the passive labour policy also on public finances. This paper analyses labour market and labour policy in one the most developed economies of the new member states of the European Union namely Slovenia. The anylysis of the Czech labour market and labour policy is also carried here. Conslusions emerged from the subsequent comparison can be then helpful in suggesting possible provisions and changes in performed labour policy.
