Abstract

This thesis deals with the current possibilities of broadband satellite systems - their services and applications intended for use by aviation. It describes ways in which multimedia can assist for this industry. As well, this thesis shows the possibilities of multimedia data transmission for on-board equipments via satellites. These include the areas of their structure, function and application. It describes the role and influence of these systems and how they can raise the level of air transport services. Among these options, the work focuses on technology in-flight entertainment. This thesis also covers comparing the equipment on board the Airbus 380 and Boeing 787.
