Abstract

The thesis focuses on the design of modifications to the gear shift system of the Opel Lotus monoposto while retaining the Hewland gearbox. The introduction analyzes the historical development of gear shift systems, focusing on selected cars from different periods. It then provides a detailed description of the monoposto in question, emphasizing its current gear shift system and explaining the motivation for the desired modification. Through a review of available sources, various publications on modifications, and market research, possible solutions for the modifications are proposed, and the most suitable one is selected based on specific criteria. Subsequently, the existing gear shift system is modified, including the design of the used components, and their load capacity is assessed.
