Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the repair of the armor of the infantry fighting vehicle BVP-1. The aim of the thesis is to design and implement a repair technology for the damaged armor by welding a new layer of ballistic steel of the Armox type. The repair is carried out using method 136 – arc welding with a flux-cored wire in an active shielding atmosphere (MAG). The thesis focuses on surface preparation, selection of welding parameters, the technological procedure, and subsequent weld quality inspection. In the conclusion, the achieved results are evaluated and recommendations for effective repairs of armored vehicles are proposed.
