Design of Low-Temperature Drying System for Treatment of Raw Natural Gas

Abstract

This master's thesis deals with the design of a low-temperature drying system for the treatment of raw natural gas. The theoretical part presents information about the company Moravské Naftové Doly (MND), historical background of oil and gas extraction in the Czech Republic, natural gas composition, classification, phase behaviour, and properties, natural gas processing, low-temperature separation and the basics of heat transfer and heat exchangers. The practical part is focused on the conversion from standard to working conditions, the energy balance on the recuperator and evaporator, calculation of the amount of hydrate formation inhibitor injected into the natural gas stream, design and calculations of recuperative and evaporative heat exchanger under the specified technical parameters. Parts of the thesis are technical drawings, and the calculation of the amount of natural gas at the process output.
