Abstract
The master thesis deals with the numerical modeling of the flow of the vapor-air mixture in the fire tower of coke battery. The first chapter summarizes the present state and trends in the development of the wet quenching equipment. In the next part of the thesis, the mathematical modeling and energy equation are described by using the ANSYS Fluent software. Subsequently, the mass flow rates are determined according to the defined input values. These flow rates are used as marginal conditions for individual solved variants of 2D and 3D model of the fire tower. The content of the thesis deals with the creation of fire towel models for various settings and marginal conditions of the computational model (temperature, slopes of the lamellas, time period of the coke´s extinguishing). The numerical solution is evaluated by using basic current values (temperature, pressures, speed). In the last part of the thesis, the evaluation of the numerical solution of the fire tower´s 3D model is extended by the flow of the vapor-air mixture with dusty elements.
