Analýza ventilového rozvodu motoru vozidla Formula Student

Abstract

Klušák, Michal. Formula Student Engine Valve Train Analysis. Ostrava, 2024, Bache-lor’s Thesis. Ostrava: VSB – Technical university of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of transport. Thesis supervisor: Ing. Petra Mücková The bachelor thesis deals with a detailed analysis of the valve train of the Yamaha FZ6 four-stroke engine, which is used in the Formula Student racing car. The aim of the thesis is to investigate the different types of valve train, the principles of operation and the possibilities of optimising valve timing. In the practical part of the work, precise measurement of the lift curves of the intake and exhaust cams was carried out using a Karl Zeiss opto-mechanical instrument, as well as a comparison of the measurement with a touch deviation meter. The data obtained were subsequently compared with the service documentation, thus confirming the good technical condition of the camshafts. The results of the work provide an important basis for optimizing the cam profile and valve timing to improve engine performance and efficiency, while also considering the trade-offs between performance, reliability and fuel consumption. The work makes a valuable contribution to the further development of the Formula Student team's powertrain.
