Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with the integration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into the inspection and maintenance processes of airport infrastructure, with a specific focus on the Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava (LKMT). The introductory parts analyze the current European legislative framework (EASA, SORA) and current technological trends in data collection using optical and thermographic sensors. This is followed by a process analysis of the current state of runway system monitoring at the LKMT airport, which identifies the technological, time, and safety limits of manual inspections. The main output of the thesis is a proposal for a methodology of UAS deployment, which is elaborated into three variant scenarios: from a cost-effective solution, through an advanced industrial system, to a fully autonomous platform. The methodology also includes a proposal for automated data evaluation using artificial intelligence algorithms for the detection of foreign object debris (FOD) and surface defects using a free web platform. The aim of the proposed solution is to increase operational safety, reduce runway closure times, and transition to proactive and predictive maintenance of airport surfaces.
