Abstract

This master thesis deals with the optimization of grinding characteristics of grinding oxide ceramic by diamond wheels. The first part is focused on the theory of grinding and grinding wheels. Another section of the theoretical part deals with the oxide ceramics. In the second half of the master thesis, a practical part, were described an experimental grinding tests which were made in the above-mentioned company. Three diamond grinding wheels were tested. Surface roughness Ra, the torsional moment of the machine Mk and behavior of the wheels when grinding were evaluated from the reached results. Furthermore, microscopic images of the wheels were acquired before and after the tests.
