Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of the production process of the wheel hub and brings innovative solutions in the production process. The introductory part focuses on the comparison of the new and original shape in terms of geometry and machining allowances. Based on these considerations a technological process was designed using machining equipment of Velosteel Trading a.s. In the experimental parts, the thesis is focused on increasing the life of VBD for drilling forgings and turning cementized hub. An optimal type of clamping device for drilling of forgings is designed to prevent inaccurate clamping at boring machine and to eliminates production quality factor. The proposed manufacturing process with the results of the experimental tests results in high quality and significant financial savings.
