Abstract

The Bachelor thesis deals with the design of the bike carrier mounted on the car towing device. The introduction is a comparison of existing products on the market and also a list of the necessary properties that the proposed carrier should have, among which are also the requirements of the legislation and decrees. According to these instructions, the individual functional parts are designed and described here, together with design solutions, including the tilt and storage position of the carrier. The calculations needed to dimension and control the stressed elements are following, especially the clamping head, which serves to fasten the bike carrier to the ball of the towing device on a car. The resulting design is a combination of cheap, simple production with a high level of practicality to be appreciated by a later user of the carrier.
