Abstract

The theme of this bachelor thesis is study of blasting as a cleaning and stripping technology in surface preparation of thin metal sheets for final coatings. The aim is to evaluate the blasting as a substitution of chemical surface cleaning and preparation. The selection of materials and thickness of sheet is in compliance with contruction rules in branch of building and modernisation of rail vehicles. The initiative part of thesis contains the general description of blasting, the following part is analysing current status of chemical cleaning. The last part contains the draft of possible blasting technology, experimental results, comparation and final conclusion.
