Abstract

The master thesis deals with the current refining the structure of metallic materials methodology with the focus on the process of ECAP. The introduction offers an overview of current methods, which are involved in the process of refining the structure of materials. In the experimental section there magnesium alloys AZ 31 have been experimentally subjected to grain refinement process of ECAP. The samples taken after the grain refinement process has been made exposition resulting structure. In the next section, the samples were heat treated T4, then pushed through ECAP tool and also the determination of the resistance to deformation. Subsequently compared hardness T4 - cooled water or air, and the structure achieved after various passed. The results are described in the conclusion.
