Abstract
Master thesis is focused on design and structural analysis of 120 mm mortar composite barrel. The beginning of the thesis is aimed on a theoretical background of mortar usage. There is also discussed a problematic of materials which are used for manufacturing of mortar barrels. The next part of thesis is based on simulation of conventional mortar barrel gunshot. Gunshot behavior of the mortar barrel is analyzed and used as a template for the following optimization. The main task of thesis is to use a composite to optimize the steel model. The goal of the optimization is to reduce a mass and preserve a function of the component.
