Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on the design of a belt grinder, including its components and accessories. Emphasis was placed on minimizing the installation space of the proposed device, ensuring ease of assembly, simplicity, and, last but not least, manufacturability under home workshop conditions. The first chapter of the thesis presents a market survey of various possible belt grinder designs. The following chapter introduces the actual design of the grinder, adapters, and accessories. The design section also includes design and strength calculations for the grinder's key components. In the penultimate chapter, the necessary ergonomic and safety features of the device were defined and proposed. The final part describes the manufacturing process and experiences gained during the assembly of the grinder. Finally, technical drawings of the assembly and two selected components were created and are included in the appendix of the thesis.
