Abstract

Master thesis focuses on the design of special grapple for timber handling on production line. The aim of this thesis is to design grapple, that can kinematically coves as much of the line as possible thanks to shape of its jaws. The first chapter is research, describing various types of grapples and their uses. Patent research is also included. This is followed by analysis of each component included in grapple with description of their function. Two designs of the grapple were created. The better one was selected and modified into third, final grapple. Kinematic analysis in production line was made for all variants. Selected calculations were made for final variant. The final chapters focus on brief description of production, assembly, maintenance and safety instructions for the grapple.
