Abstract

ŠMIRAUS JAKUB. Design of Motocycle Active Geometry Change System. Ostrava: Department Institute of traffic, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, 2011, 106 p. Thesis, head: Ing. Michal Richtář. The topic of this thesis is the construction of an active changing system of a motorcycle geometry. The introduction outlines the problematics of motion dynamics of a motorcycle and its dimensional and design features. The practical part focuses on the process of active geometry drawing creation and presents the reasons for selection of particular elements of the system as well as its whole construction. In the following section, the calculations of mechanical stress of particular chassis components and the benefits evaluations are provided. Subsequently, an actually constructed model and its test drive are described. The conclusion includes the thesis evaluation and examples of a potential utilization of the system in operation or development of undercarriage motorcycle parts. The appendix comprises of measurement records, solidity analyses, developmental 3D models and technical drawings of elements of the changing geometry system created in order to make its construction possible.
