Abstract
Moravian-Silesian region is historically associated with mechanical engineering. It houses a number of well-established SMEs and their next logical step is international expansion and digital transformation. Methodology of building export strategy, however, is only given by historical traditions and its contents are not rigidly defined according to the established "business model" that would be able to describe how the company wants to create value, measure the effectiveness of their activities and respond to changes resulting from the turbulent economic environment.
In order to develop the full potential companies are trying to come up with new ways to innovate their business models and increase their competitiveness by expanding into foreign markets. To be competitive abroad within the next two, five or ten years, it is important that companies start to systematically create innovative business models.
The aim of the thesis is to a create proposal of business model for export of an engineering company. The company focuses on the production of fire and explosion protection for machinery. In proposing a new business model the company wants to know its current situation and most importantly - increase competitiveness on foreign markets.
