Research on the Implementationof SDGs by Automobile Corporations in Developed Countries

Abstract

Along with climate change, resources tightening and accelerating deterioration of the human environment, a series of research subjects relating to how to reach sustainable development, which implies meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs that is becoming the researching focus of scholars. In September 2015, the 193 member states of the United Nations formally adopt 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) at the summit. SDGs have become an emerging focal point in academia. The scholars in economics, management, law and ethics have done a lot of in-depth studies on this issue in the context of resources shortening, environmental pollution and ecological deterioration, discussing whether and how corporations can play a part in achieving coordinate and sustainable development of economy, society, environment, resources and energy is the essential characteristic of these studies. As the largest single sector in the manufacturing industry, the automobile industry means a great deal of importance to nations economy. On the one hand, in the manufacturing and using phase, the automobile industry or car means a big burden on the environment; on the other hand, due to the fact that industry chain of the automobile industry is very long that exerts great influence on national economy. Therefore, this dissertation thesis will systematically analyze the implementation of SDGs in developed countries from the demisions of society, economy and environment by reviewing and analyzing the factors affecting the sustainable development of automobile corporations in developed countries, in order to answer the questions that whether the coordinated development of automobile corporations can be realized through the implementation of sustainable development strategy, and providing the suggestions for Chinese automobile corporations to implement SDGs.

Spolu se změnou klimatu, ubýváním zdrojů a zrychlujícím zhoršováním životního prostředí se stává středem zájmu vědců řada výzkumných témat týkajících se toho, jak dosáhnout udržitelného rozvoje, což znamená uspokojování potřeb současnosti, aniž by byla ohrožena schopnost budoucích generací uspokojovat své vlastní potřeby. V září 2015 193 členských států Organizace spojených národů na summitu formálně přijalo 17 cílů udržitelného rozvoje (SDGs). SDGs se staly nově vznikajícím ústředním bodem v akademické sféře. Vědci z oblasti ekonomie, managementu, práva a etiky provedli mnoho hloubkových studií na toto téma v kontextu ubývání zdrojů, znečišťování a zhoršování životního prostředí a diskutovali o tom, zda a jak mohou korporace hrát roli při dosahování koordinovaného a udržitelného rozvoje. Ekonomika, společnost, životní prostředí, zdroje a energie jsou základními charakteristikami těchto studií. Automobilový průmysl jako největší samostatný sektor ve zpracovatelském průmyslu má pro ekonomiku národů velký význam. Na jedné straně ve fázi výroby a používání znamená automobilový průmysl nebo automobil velkou zátěž pro životní prostředí; na druhou stranu vzhledem k tomu, že průmyslový řetězec automobilového průmyslu je velmi dlouhý, má velký vliv na národní hospodářství. Tato disertační práce proto systematicky analyzuje implementaci SDGs ve vyspělých zemích z hlediska společnosti, ekonomiky a životního prostředí prostřednictvím přezkoumání a rozboru faktorů ovlivňujících udržitelný rozvoj automobilových korporací ve vyspělých zemích. Cílem je odpovědět na otázky, zda koordinovaný rozvoj automobilových korporací lze realizovat prostřednictvím implementace strategie udržitelného rozvoje a poskytnutí návrhů čínským automobilovým korporacím k implementaci SDGs.
