Abstract

The subject of the bachelor thesis is drag finishing technology and its impact on the selected properties of the insert surface integrity coated with PVD coat. In the theoretical part, the geometry of cutting edge is analyzed, in terms of microgeometry and macrogeometry. Subsequently, the integrity of the surface is defined together with the analysis selected properties of integrity of the cutting edge surface. The thesis deals with surface treatment of drag finishing, which is described with other surface treatments of a similar character. The experimental part includes areal roughness measurement on cutting edge surface, evaluation of the cutting test in terms of durability and visual evaluation microgeometry of the cutting edge. The results of these tests are evaluated separately and in interdependence. Further is recommended next testing procedure.
