Vladislav Křivda, Ph.D. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to provide an analysis of the traffic in Závodní street in vicinity of Ostravar arena, primarily during organizing of sports and cultural events. The main reason of creating the analysis is to find out the intensity of the traffic for the consequent plan design of traffic control signals which can be used to control flow of traffic during the events instead of current control of flow of by traffic police. The adjustment of the control of the traffic was suggested in order to safety increase. The diploma thesis is comprised of the area description, traffic engineering and monitoring of intensities and routing of traffic and pedestrian flows, videoanalysis of the conflict situations and analysis of accident rate. Diploma thesis also provides the microsimulation model made in PTV VISSIM programme based on the capacity and prognostic calculation. The results of the model are also presented in the conclusion.
