Abstract

This master´s thesis is concerned with the designing of the chain conveyor for the metallurgical industry. The device is designed for transverse transport of crowbar between a parallel roller tracks in the Medium and fine section mill. The device design is preceded by a survey of application areas of chain conveyors in engineering production and the possibility of transportation chains for conveyors. The content of the thesis is the solution of a transportation method, the selection of a method for the realization of the lifting of the crowbar and the structural design of the carrier chain. The chain is guided along the rails of a rigid frame. A gearmotor is used to drive the chains. In the work a force analysis of the whole machine loads and its individual parts are made. For the most critical parts of the device, strength calculations were performed.
