This thesis deals with the design of a heat pump water to water. The first section describes general matters related to heat pumps, for example a division, a principle of operation, etc. Next section is aimed at the construction of a separate heat pump, there are stated the computations which are important for designing individual components. It also includes a capacitive and balance calculations based on the simulation of a regular year. The thesis is completed by comparing a gas boiler with a heat pump taking into the economic and the environmental point of view.
