Abstract
The bachelor's thesis deals with the modernization of the tailstock of the SU 80 lathe. In the introduction, we will get to know the main parts of the lathe. An electric motor with a gearbox is designed from a comparison of different types of lathe tailstock drive. For the designed drive, a console for the tailstock of the lathe is constructed, on which a static strength check is performed.
