Abstract

This thesis deals with the stress analysis of the drum conveyor and comparison of methods used. The solution is performed in two different ways. The first way is the solution of the analytical method. This older method is based on a simple idealization of the drum geometry. Then the drum is solved using the superposition principle. To speed up calculation was utilized the mathematical program Matlab. The second way is a numerical solution method. This method uses the real geometry of the drum. For this type of solution were used FEM programs Patran and Nastran to determine the resulting stress. In conclusion, the results are compared both methods. The following are also compared the advantages and disadvantages of both methods used.
