Abstract

The topic of the thesis is an examination of the effects of surface treatment on coating quality. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the theory of surfaces and their classification according to their qualities. The next chapter deals with an analysis of mechanical and chemical surface treatment including an examination of particular technologies. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with corrosion protection and an examination of organic coating. The experimental part of my thesis focuses on the pigmented coating used for application on bridges. Its adhesion and corrosion resistance are examined on pretreated steel sheet samples.
