Thesis is dealing with the assessment and analysis of the potential catchment area LJ Ostrava. The front part of the work dealing with the theoretical knowledge such as history of the airport and its development, goods suitable for air transport, traffic characteristics and means of transport and cargo areas. These theoretical knowledges are then complemented by research, which focuses mainly on finding the potential in the catchment area and its size. Research was conducted using the questionnaire method in the Moravia-Silesia region. At the end of thesis appreciate the findings made and perform analysis to set targets.
