Abstract
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the protection of employees in the event of the employer's insolvency. The aim of the work is to evaluate the expenses paid by the Labor Office of the Czech Republic to employees in the event of the employer's insolvency for the relevant period 2014–2022 and the number of processed applications. To support the main goal, two sub-goals are set, the first sub-goal being the evaluation within the Labor Office of the Czech Republic as a whole and the second sub-goal being the evaluation and comparison between the Regional Branch in Ostrava and the Regional Branch in Brno. Two research questions are also verified in the bachelor thesis.
The bachelor thesis uses dynamic series and comparison methods. In the practical part of the bachelor's thesis, it is found that on average there was a reduction of monitored expenses by 4.7 %. There is also a downward trend in the number of processed applications. However, in the monitored period, there were significant fluctuations both in the expenses paid and in the number of processed applications. An analysis of the data for the KrP in Ostrava and Brno shows that, although there was also a reduction in expenses, the development was different in some years, namely in 2018 and 2020. However, overall, the KrP in Brno was paid more than the KrP in Ostrava, as well there was a higher number of processed applications. At the end of the work, possible factors that can affect the amount of paid expenses were outlined, such as the amount of the minimum wage, the maximum amount that can be paid to one employee in one month, the number of economic entities or the number of employed people.
