Abstract
The master thesis is deals with the influence of geometry and input conditions on fluid flow in a bend of circular cross-section. The thesis compares numerical modelling of the flow with experimental measurements conducted at the Aerospace Research Centre in Prague (CLKV). The theoretical introduction describes flow in a bend of circular cross-section, including equations and nomograms for determining local pressure losses. The following section focuses on the turbulent flow, the basic equations describing flow, and the theory of numerical modelling of turbulent flow. Furthermore, the experimental measurement system is described, including the measurement methodology. The practical section implements numerical modelling of the bend of a circular cross-section. In the final chapter, the results of the numerical turbulence models are compared with the experimental measurement. The result is the determination of appropriate numerical models and their accuracy in simulating flow in the curved region.
