Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the roughing of the surface of titan alloy AMS 4911–Ti-6Al-4V, using the method of milling. This work was enabled by the company Pramet Tools, s.r.o. from Šumperk that produces indexable cutting inserts. In the future this company intends to introduce the production of indexable cutting inserts for the machining of difficult to machine alloys. The theoretical part summarizes the properties of titan, its alloys, and presents the areas of usage and method of production. It describes the materials of cutting tools suitable for the machining of difficult to machine alloys and the types of their wear. The experimental part examines the properties of the competitor´s tool by the company Sandvik CZ, s.r.o. when milling titan alloy. The company Pramet Tools, s.r.o. tests newly designed inserts for roughing and finds out the deviations from the competitor´s tool.
