Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to determine a crystallizer durability i.e. to determinecurrenttechnical condition of the crystallizer using neuralnetworks. At the beginning of the thesis there is a brief introduction to the technologyof continuous casting process and description ofthe basic types ofneuralnetworks. Herafter is described a principle of operation of the crystallizer. The practicalpart of the thesis reports wear measurement of diameter 550mm circularcrystallizer,using data fromtheV.I.S. software (measured values of conicityand information about a melt) and algorithm forneural networkanalysis creation using a software Statistica.
