Abstract
This thesis deals with adaptive techniques used in the finite element method (FEM). The main goal is to create the own algorithm for solving two-dimensional problems with adaptive techniques support. The first part is mainly focused on the theory. There are mentioned basic equations of the theory of elasticity. Significant part of the theory is dedicated to the FEM and adaptive techniques. The second part deals with the implementation of own adaptive algorithms in the programming languange Python. The last part presents comparsion of the own adaptive algorithms with commercial softwares ANSYS APDL and Marc Mentat.
