Realizace úlohy - Vystrojování optických rozváděčů

Abstract

In my thesis I deal with the issue of optical cabinets and their fabrication. The work is divided into two parts: a theoretical and a practical one. In the theoretical part I was concerned with the description of the types of some of the supplied switchboards and materials needed for their fabrication. These include optical cartridges for the storage of joints (splices, couplings), connectors and the ferrules used in them, pigtails, adaptors and optical patchcords. As for the practical part, it was necessary to choose a method for the fabrication of the optical switchboard. After consideration, I chose the following procedure: storing the cable in the optical cabinet, winding-up of the cables in the optical cartridge, creating of two joints by mechanical couplings (FibrLock, capillary) and 4 fibre welds – pigtail, check of the tightness of joints with an error locater, storage of the joints in the optical cartridges and plugging of the pigtails into the adaptors. Subsequently, the realization of the given task was carried out in this workroom. On the basis of the acquired knowledge from the theoretical part and the skills gained from the practical part, I have drawn up an instruction for the student laboratories.
