Abstract

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the analysis and solution of problems associated with failures of key production equipment in the rolling mill, with a specific focus on the plain bearings of the rolling stans main drives. The thesis is structured into two fundamental sections - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part discusses possible bearing failures, their occurrence and the mechanisms that lead to them. The practical part focuses on the application of tribodiagnostics methods on plain bearings of the main drives of the rolling stans. Furthermore, recommendations for improving the condition of the reservoirs that supply lubricant to the individual bearings are given. The objective of this thesis is not only to analyse and identify failures, but also to propose effective solutions to improve the reliability and reduce the maintenance costs of the bearings of rolling mill. Another task is to carry out an economic evaluation of the measure used - specifically the bypass filtration device and to indicate the economic return on the investment made compared to the premature replacement of the oil reservoir fill.
